“Food Ink.” is a show intended to illustrate that cooking is not just for the professional chef, and that you can prepare gourmet-tasting meals in the comfort of your own home easily and quickly. The goal of the show is to present to the audience recipes that are easy to follow, simple to prepare, and delicious to enjoy as that is exactly what every home cook wants when they step into the kitchen. The question for many is however where to find that? That answer is almost as easy to find, as their recipes are to prepare. It’s “Food Ink.” Great food, without the attitude!

The man behind “Food Ink.” is a culinary master that has been hiding his cooking talents behind a microphone for the past 10 years. Howie Drummond, co-host on the ALICE 105.9 Morning Show is not only 1/3 of one of the highest rated morning radio programs in Denver, but he is also an accomplished chef with years of professional experience in the kitchen and behind the grill. Howie prides himself on his ingenuity in the kitchen, and has for years, maintained a passion for cooking delicious, easy to cook meals for friends and family.

Episode 5 - Stuffed Burgers

• 8 thin burger patties (approximately 1/4 lb each)
• 1/2 cup shredded cheese (Swiss 4 mush/cheddar 4 bacon)
• 1/2 cup sauteed mushrooms or 1/2 cup bacon (chopped)
• 1/3 cup chopped onion (diced)
• To taste: Salt, pepper, garlic, onion powder

Add seasonings to beef and mix
Press beef in to 8 quarter pound patties (thin, but not too thin)
In a pan: saute onion and either mushrooms or bacon - If you're going to do both, just do them in different pans
After the butter melts add onion then mushrooms (let cool slightly)
Lay 4 of the patties on plate and top with stuffing
Then place the other 4 patties on top and gently work/pinch the ends together
Place on the grill
4 toasted buns Lettuce, tomato, pickles and mayo... enjoy!

Steak Fries

6 russet potatoes (quartered long ways)
Fry in oil... season and eat

Earthquake Cake

• 1 Cup Coconut
• 1 Cup Pecans
• 1 Box German Chocolate Mix
• 1 8oz Cream Cheese
• 1 Stick margarine or softened butter
• 1 lb Box Powdered
• 1 tsp. Vanilla

Grease & Flour 9x12 cake pan
Sprinkle coconut & Pecans in bottom of pan
Mix cake mix as directed on box using high altitude instructions
Pour over coconuts pecans
In separate bowl cream together cream cheese margarine, powdered sugar and vanilla extract
Drop by spoonfuls on top of cake mix
Bake @ 350 degrees for 45-50 min High Altitude 375 degrees

Rooootini

• Pinnacle Root beer flavored vodka (2 oz.)
• Dairy Product of Choice (4oz)
• Half and half
• Milk
• Soy
• Shake + Pour over ice
• Add: Root beer soda reduction
• Root beer vodka (1 oz)
• Root beer soda (1 oz)
• 5 sugar cubes
• Heat in sauce pan, reduce (Note: high heat to boil)
• Garnish- Maraschino Cherry

Coco Loco Milk Shake

• Palms Coconut Barbados Rum (1 oz)
• Palms Banana Barbados Rum (1 oz)
• 3 large scoops of your favorite vanilla ice cream
• Blend in blender
• Serve in tall glass
• Garnish- Toasted coconut (shaved)
• Diced Frozen Banana (Sprinkle on top)
