Football Finger Foods: Colorado Chili dogs, Steak Tacos with Salsita, Cream cheeses and sausage dip, Banana Split

Colorado Chili dogs

  • 1 1/4 lbs. (very lean) ground beef
  • 1 large onion
  • 1-6oz can of tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tblespn chili powder
  • 2 tblespn worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspn cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspn salt
  • 1/4 teaspn black pepper
  • 2 cups water

Place beef and 2 cups of water in a sauce pan...
As water begins to boil add the rest of the ingredients..
Continue to cook at slow boil for 15 minutes...
Grill hot dogs and buns....
Add condiments.

Steak Tacos with Salsita

  • 1/2 cup mayo
  • 2 tablespn fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespn chives
  • 2 tblespn wasabi powder
  • 4 (6 to 7 oz steaks)
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 cups fresh arugula
  • 8-6 inch tortillas
  • 3 tblspn extra virgin olive oil

Salista: mix in a bowl and set aside until serving
Steaks: grill with salt and pepper, slice serve over bed of arugula.....

Cream cheeses and sausage dip

  • 1 lb ground sausage
  • 2 box cream cheese
  • 1 can rotell

Brown sausage drain....add cream cheese and rotell...
Serve with corn chips.....

Banana Split

  • Bananas split in half
  • 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream
  • Pineapple topping
  • Caramel topping
  • Hot fudge topping
  • Whipped topping
  • Chopped nuts
  • Cherries

Howie’s Red Beer

  • ½ glass Hog heaven beer (Avery Brewing Co – Boulder, CO)
  • 2 oz Clamato (picante)
  • Tbl salsa
  • ½ tbl fresh squeezed lime

Add beer to tall glass
Take clamato, salsa, fresh lime to shaker with ice
Strain into beer and enjoy

Bloody Mary

  • Blue Ice organic wheat vodka
  • Clamato (picante)
  • Salsa
  • Fresh lime

Add contents to shaker
Shake, pour & enjoy

Cherry Bombs

  • Muchote Tequila
  • Maraschino cherries

Strain cherry juice from jar
Add muchote tequila
Let tequila soak into cherries for 2 hours
Pop them into your mouth and enjoy!
